In “We Real Cool,” the speakers make choices that seem exciting, bold, and rebellious, even though those choices lead to consequences. Write about a moment in your own life when you followed what looked cool or fun, only to realize afterwards that it wasn’t the smart or responsible path. What influenced your decision, and how did your perspective change later?

 

    One time I went out with my friends down to the train tracks to mess around. We went to a few stops over the highway. Latter after walking for a bit, I stepped into some tar. It trapped my shoes, and I had to clean them out in the sink. I didn't really think much after that.


We read the poem "We Real Cool."


I learned about the stuff the teenagers thought were cool.

Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier?

      My friends and I go to parks a lot. One time the invited me to go with them, It was night around 8 and I decided not to go. Later on that night my friend got badly hurt, and had to go back home, and miss a day of school. By not going I was able to avoid getting hurt like my friend. We finished the story story "The Life You Save May Be Your Own". I learned about the lesson the story taught.
