Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier?

My friends and I go to parks a lot. One time the invited me to go with them, It was night around 8 and I decided not to go. Later on that night my friend got badly hurt, and had to go back home, and miss a day of school. By not going I was able to avoid getting hurt like my friend. We finished the story story "The Life You Save May Be Your Own". I learned about the lesson the story taught.

Describe a time that you had an encounter with a homeless person, either directly or indirectly. What did you think and how did it make you feel?

Just driving downtown I see a lot of homeless people, we have given food, and money to some of them ever now and then, and they all take it with a lot of gratitude. When I see them it really makes me feel sad that life went that way. We started a short story. I learned about a new author.

Write about what you are thankful for.

I am thankful for my parents. They have let me follow any path I made, and supported me through it all. Without them I don't know if I would go down the path I have. They have really helped me a lot. We did some vocabulary. I learned about new words.

The last scene forces readers to reinterpret Emily’s entire life. Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?

I can't think of an example but I do try not to judge people, since I don't know why they're doing something. I strongly believe that almost everybody does something for a good reason, and if they harm you its not because they just want to. We read more of "A Rose for Emily" I learned about the ending of the story.

In “A Rose for Emily,” Miss Emily’s actions shock the reader—she kills her fiancé and keeps his body in her home for years. People often react with disbelief when they hear about real-life stories that seem just as unbelievable. Write about the most shocking or “craziest” news story you have ever heard. What happened, and why did it stand out to you? How did people react to it, and what does it reveal about human behavior?

About one week ago I watched a documentary that just came out called "Perfect Neighbor". It primarily consisted of body cam footage of all the events that happened leading up to the main incident. To make a long story short, by the end this old woman killed a middle aged black mother with a shot to the shoulder. The murder got of free for a long time under the "stand your ground" law in Florida. What really surprised me is that the murder knew about this law and how to use it to not go to jail, and in many cases this law dose protect people who committed  homicide. By the end the court gathered enough evidence to remove the "stand your ground" law from being used, and she was scented to person for murder. Yet this probably wouldn't have went this way if it wasn't for the protest for the murders imprisonment. We finished the story story "A Rose for Emily". I learned about many homicide committed in the United States.

Miss Emily’s house once represented pride and tradition, but over time it became a symbol of decay and isolation. Describe a place that holds deep memories for you—positive or negative—and explain how it reflects part of who you are or how you’ve changed over time.

A place that holds deep memories for me is Seattle. I grew up there, and have many fond memories of it. Without it I probably wouldn't have the same view on public transport I have now. In Seattle I rode public transport everyday, even when really young. Now I see public transport as a really good way to get around, unlike many people in Atlanta who see public transport for people who are poor, and unsanitary. We read the a short story, I learned about the effects of isolation.

Think about the vocabulary words from Lesson Two. Write about a time you saw or heard one of these words outside of the classroom — maybe in a movie, song, social media post, or book. Describe how it was used and whether the context helped you understand the word better.

Back in Freshman year of high school in band we played a song called Incantation. It was mine and many other favorites. It was very charming like what the word incantation means. With slow and fast parts, and very clarinet heavy. That is one time I've seen the word be used. We worked in the vocabulary textbook. I learned new words like donnybrook.

Thinking about “The Rockpile,” which parent or guardian in your life has been the strictest when it comes to discipline? Explain how their approach to discipline has influenced you or shaped your behavior.

My parents disciplined me by giving me a stern talking to. It was really the only way they could punish me since I enjoyed cleaning, and didn't really care if my technology got taken away. Most of the trouble I got into was with my sister, the talks they gave me were to tell me that I was the oldest, so I had to take the higher ground. This made me into a very patient, and calm person, since I had to prevent rising conflict. We worked on our PowerPoint for "The Rockpile". I learned new vocab like crooned.

Thinking about "The Rockpile," what is something your parents forbade you from doing when you were growing up? Explain what it was and why they might have set that rule.

When growing up I was not allowed to ride the public transport by myself, beside the school bus. I used to live in Seattle and the public transport there was very popular. Yet when I was still in elementary school, I wasn't able to go on the transport alone. It was unsafe with the people who road it, and I didn't have a cellphone either. We read a short story. I learned about the unsafe life of life.

Words shape how we think, write, and interpret literature. Think about a time when learning a new word or understanding a specific term helped you better analyze a text, express an idea, or make your writing stronger.

When reading I came across many allusions  to the bible like, forbidden fruit, haven, Eden, etc. Not growing up christian made it hard for me to understand when stories use these words. Over time I learned the meanings of these allusions, and I know I can analyze text a lot better. We learned some new vocabulary. I learned new words I can use in my text.
